CALIFORNIA HOMICIDE INVESTIGATORS ASSOCIATION
Dear Prospective Sponsor,
We are proud to introduce you to the California Homicide Investigators Association (CHIA) and to invite your support of our Annual Conference, an event that brings together the nation's foremost homicide and death investigation professionals.
About CHIA
Founded in 1968, CHIA has a remarkable origin story: a small dinner gathering of homicide detectives from Los Angeles and San Francisco, convened to discuss the infamous Zodiac Killer investigation. From those humble beginnings, CHIA has grown into the largest organization of homicide and death investigation professionals in the United States, with over 1,900 active members representing law enforcement agencies from across the globe.
Our Mission
CHIA is dedicated to advancing the field of homicide investigation through training, networking, and professional support for homicide investigators, prosecutors, and death investigation professionals. At the heart of our mission is our Annual Training Conference; a three-day event drawing over 800 attendees, including homicide detectives, coroner investigators, prosecutors, and support professionals from around the world. Attendees participate in high-profile case presentations, cutting-edge training seminars, and invaluable peer-to-peer collaboration with some of the country's top investigators and prosecutors.
The 57th Annual CHIA Conference — August 18–21, 2026
This year's conference presents a unique opportunity for your organization to gain meaningful visibility while directly supporting a worthy cause. Your sponsorship helps sustain the environment of professional excellence, case collaboration, and investigative innovation that CHIA has built over more than five decades.
The Michael David Davis Jr. Memorial Scholarship
Your support also helps fund CHIA's Scholarship Program, which provides financial assistance to family members of homicide victims pursuing education or job training — offering a tangible path forward for families touched by tragedy.
Your Support Makes a Difference
CHIA is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization (FEIN: 94-2583294), and your contribution is tax-deductible to the fullest extent permitted by law. Every dollar invested in CHIA directly supports the professionals who work tirelessly to bring justice to victims and their families.
We sincerely appreciate your consideration and hope to welcome you as a valued conference partner. For questions or to discuss sponsorship opportunities, please contact us at president@chia187.com or visit us at www.chia187.com.
